Letting Go and Let God...

We have all heard this saying thousands of times, "Let go and let God", but what does it truly mean? How do we let go of the hurt of this world? Letting go is one of the hardest things to do. We all have experienced different hurt, pain, and suffering in our lives. We have been hurt by people that should have never hurt us, but we need to let go of this pain.

How can we let go and let God into our life? We can pray! Praying to God allows us to see all of God's grace in our own life. By praying, we can let go of hurt and pain of this world and rejoice in God's love for us. God is always there for us in good time and in bad times. He never leaves us.

5 Verses About Letting Go

1. Proverbs 3:5-6 states, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."

God commands us to trust him through everything. Even though not all of life is going to be easy, God is always going to be there. God will never leave us even through bad times. He is steadfast in his love for us. Even when it seems he is not there, he is always there for us.

2. Ephesians 4:31-32 states, "Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."

One of the greatest thing we can do for others who hurt us is to show them kindness. God calls us to love one another even those who sin. It is our duty as God's children to show love to all even if they hurt us.

3.  Ecclesiastes 3:6 states, "A time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away."

There is a time for everything in life. We must cast away our hurt and pain in order to let God into our life. If we spend all of our time focusing on the suffering of this world, we won't have time to devote to God.

4. Matthew 6:14 states, "For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you."

As God has forgiven us, we must forgive those who hurt us. Forgiveness can be the hardest thing to do when someone has hurt you, but it makes you a stronger person. God wants you to be happy, but holding on to hurt and pain of this world stops us from moving forward in our life.

5.  Matthew 5:44 states, "But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."

There will always be people that persecute us, but we must pray and love them. Love is the greatest gift we can give to those who persecute us. God commands us to love all even our enemies. I know how difficult it is to love those who hurt you. I have gone through the same pain and struggle that you are going through, but we must let go or we will never forgive those who hurt us.
