Follow Me...
Hello Y'all... Sorry I haven't written in a while but I have been extremely busy with work and school. I have been meaning to write the past few days about an issue as Christians we are facing. I have been reading a great book called, "Follow Me" by David Platt. I would recommend it for all christian to read. It truly shows us what our calling with God is as many of us have forgotten.
We are no longer following Jesus. Our society is so focused on the "American Dream", but what really is the "American Dream"? Are we all just looking for fame and fortune? What has happened that we have forgotten about God? Our society is so focused on ourselves that we forget that Jesus died on the cross for us. Just take a moment to think about this as I couldn't imagine living on Earth knowing that I would die on the cross for everyone else's sins. It is so breathtaking to think about. I have come to realize that I am worth it. What I mean by that is that God chose to forgive me of my sins because I am enough. Society teaches us that we are never enough for anyone, but I know that with God as long as I have faith I am enough. He formed me in the womb. He made me who I am today.
Many Churches in Society teach us that we must do certain works in order to get to heaven, but this is all wrong. We must not think of heaven as a reward for good deeds. We were not sent to Earth to work for a reward rather to make disciples. Our job as Christians is to spread the word of Jesus Christ to everyone even those who will not listen. I know I struggle with this to so its like preaching to the choir, but as a christian if we just chose one person a day to show our faith to, just think how many more brothers and sister we would be able to save.
If we take a look at Matthew 4, Jesus calls on his first disciples Peter, James, John, and Andrew. Jesus told the group of fisherman to follow him. Jesus asked a simple question but it took great strength to do as these individuals understood that if they did they would be crucified. We must understand that the most persecuted religion in the world is Christianity. When an Muslim converts to Christianity, he or she practically dies and faces persecution from his or her family, friends, and community. So when God asks us to follow him, he is asking us to give our lives to him. We must put all of our faith in his plan for us.

"And He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."
Matthew 4:19
So what are you going to choose to do? The answer is so simple and difficult at the same time. Lets all make a decision today to dedicate our whole life to Christ as he did for us.
