The Sound of Music...
Good evening.. Sorry all I haven't written in a few days. This weeks I decided to get back into practicing my guitar and piano as I haven't done so in a month. I think with everything going on I couldn't mentally think about doing something else. I have never received official piano lessons but I have taught myself simple chords and hand movements which will take a while to learn more advanced music but I have more than enough time. I have loved music since I was little from country to classical. The only type of music I don't care for is pop and rap as I really don't feel like this is true music as it sends such a missed message to the world with its usage of sex, drugs, rape, and etc. My favorite music is country but I do love christian, old western, and classical. Lately I have been trying to learn some contemporary christian music. Today, I was practicing "How Great is Our God" by Tom Tomlin.
This week has been chugging along. I was able to to turn in my BTZ packet which is a sheet that I write all of my accomplishments while in the military like volunteer hours, leadership positions, and etc. I should probable explain BTZ. BTZ means that you promote 6 months before everyone else in your quarter. Only 15% are chosen of those who are in you quarter. You compete against airman in your career field. I was able to get a letter of recommendation from the Chaplains for my honorary service with them!
Today was a pretty good day as I received my volunteer award from the Presidential Volunteer Program. I was so overjoyed as I have volunteered over 280 hours since February 2012.
I must also add I have two new kitties that I have been taking care of. They come around two times a day for food. One lets me pet him while the other is quite shy, but I am making progress as he now comes closer than before... Hehehe!
